Why can’t it be both?
gimmick
• noun a trick or device intended to attract attention rather than fulfil a useful purpose.
Our ‘Culture’ surrounds us in gimmicks. Is there any real reason why the Church shouldn’t use them?
Not convinced that telling me it is a ‘trick’ that doesn’t ‘fulfil a useful purpose’ is going to convince me 😉
