Sanctuary – Alt. Worship in Rickerscote

One of the main focuses of my MA was a study into how the very traditional aspects of the wider church can engage with alt worship.  Last week I attended a session led by an Anglican clergyman who identifies himself firmly within the “catholic” end of the spectrum and keen to embrace the fresh expressions movement.

His church is launching a new service at 5PM on the first Saturday of each month.  His hope is that it will be purely for people who have no other church contact.  The words of the flyer read:

You are warmly invited to join us for ‘sanctuary’ a new way of celebrating and prayer.  Meet with God and other people in a welcoming place.

If you are interested in attending, it is at St Peters Church Rickerscote, near Stafford.  I hope to make it at some point to see how things operate once it is established.
