I know what you’re thinking and I can’t quite believe that I am writing this either. The BBC has a news report that is worth contemplating. Could your last act of worship be a decorated coffin? Tell me what you think.

i’ve seen this done with football team colours……have to say i thought it was kinda cool
i liked the comment by the funeral director… second one down i think. re talking about death and making it less taboo. he ain’t wrong.
We have massive issues with this in the UK. People find it so difficult to deal with death because we have sanitised it. People die in hospital rather than the home. Funerals don’t offer a proper length of time to grieve. On top of that people are simultaneously disinterested in exploring the concept of life after death until “Britain’s most haunted” comes on or someone starts charging £25 for a séance.
I think that’s why I want a requiem mass. Plenty of time to grieve and then plenty of time for a party afterwards!
